Governor Doyle Announces Funding for Multi-Purpose Community Center in Marquette County

MADISON— Governor Jim Doyle announced today that the Village of Endeavor, Marquette County, will receive a $340,000 grant from the Community Development Block Grant–Public Facilities (CDBG-PF) program of the Department of Commerce (Commerce) to fund its multi-purpose community center project.

“Investing in area development projects is important because it allows city residents to take full advantage of public resources and come together as a community,” Governor Doyle said. “We must continue our support for projects like this that will improve overall community development.”

The Village of Endeavor is building a multi-purpose community center that will house a senior center, a library, the village hall, a police department, and a small meeting room/office. The senior center will provide more programs and meals, and the library will have more room for computers and after-school programs. Total project cost is $784,600.

CDBG-PF grants play an important role in helping communities finance a wide range of projects designed to enhance the economic vitality of the community through the provision of community infrastructure, the expansion of tax base, job creation, and increased private investment in downtowns.
