Plumbing Industry Week to be Held April 27-May 3

MADISON– Department of Commerce (Commerce) Secretary Jack L. Fischer, AIA announced today that Plumbing Industry Week in Wisconsin will be held from April 27-May 3.  National Plumbing Industry Week focuses on the role of the plumbing industry in safeguarding the nation’s environment and the safety, health and comfort of its people.

“Plumbing Industry Week recognizes the vital role the professional plumber plays in protecting the health and safety of society,” Fischer said.  “The plumbing industry is a large and respectable component of Wisconsin’s economy.  We are glad to have the opportunity to support and commend Wisconsin plumbers for their passion and hard work.”

National Plumbing Industry Week will occur in conjunction with the 125th anniversary celebration of the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors National Association (PHCC).  The PHCC represents more than 125 contractors and 7,000 technicians in Wisconsin.

The plumbing industry plays a significant role in Wisconsin’s economy.  The majority of plumbing contractors are small business owners, who help create many jobs throughout the state and across the country.  Wisconsin plumbers improve the quality of life for Wisconsin residents and revitalize Wisconsin’s economy by providing business opportunities.
