Governor Doyle to Kick-Off DreamBikes Grand Opening

Will Also Host Governor’s Earth Day Celebration at the Residence


 


Governor Jim Doyle will join community leaders for the grand opening of DreamBikes tomorrow, Saturday, April 19, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in Madison.  DreamBikes, Inc. is a non-profit business that refurbishes donated bicycles, trains and employs local teenagers, and provides low-cost bicycles to youth in Allied Drive and other neighborhoods in need.  The Governor will join John Burke, President of Trek Bicycles, and Roger Bird, President of DreamBikes, for the opening. 


 


Later in the day, at 1:00 p.m. Governor Doyle and First Lady Jessica Doyle will kickoff the first annual Governor’s Earth Day Celebration at the Executive Residence.  About 200 kids ages 5 to 8 will attend the event that promotes environmental conservation through education and a variety of activities.  The Governor will be joined by Matt Frank, Secretary of the Department of Natural Resources, Rod Nilsestuen, Secretary of the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection, and Jill Makovec, Alice in Dairyland.
