Johnson Controls and Versar, Inc. Joint Venture Awarded Air Force Infrastructure Contract

Various Air Force facilities to be upgraded or newly constructed.


MILWAUKEE, April 7, 2008 /PRNewswire/ — Johnson Controls, (NYSE:JCI) , the global, multi-industrial leader in creating smart environments, announced today that a joint venture between Versar, Inc., and Johnson Controls Federal Systems, a subsidiary of Johnson Controls, Inc., will be awarded one of approximately 12 large business contracts by the U.S. Air Force for construction and design build services worldwide.

The contract has an expected $10 billion dollar ceiling for all awardees, including small and disadvantaged companies. Companies are charged with supplying facilities and infrastructure support to the Air Force Civil Engineering Support Agency (AFCESA) under a Sustainment, Restoration, and Modernization Acquisition Task Order Contract (SATOC). AFCESA, headquartered at Tyndall Air Force Base, FL, provides infrastructure construction, design build and other support services to address environmental restoration, military family housing and the military construction program at existing Air Force facilities. Work under SATOC will be awarded to each contractor through a task order system over a five-year period, plus five one-year renewal options.
