Great Wolf Resorts Closes $55 Million Mortgage Loan

MADISON, Wis., Feb. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Great Wolf Resorts, Inc. (NASDAQ:WOLF) , North America’s leading family of indoor waterpark resorts, today announced that the company has closed on a $55 million mortgage loan. The loan is secured by the company’s Great Wolf Lodge resort in Williamsburg, Virginia and bears interest at a floating rate of LIBOR plus 300 basis points, with a minimum rate of 6.50 percent per annum.


“We put this loan in place to add liquidity to our balance sheet,” commented James A. Calder, chief financial officer. “We are pleased to have closed on this financing in the current difficult debt market. This loan continues our strategy to ensure our liquidity is more than sufficient to achieve our current development objectives. With the closing of this loan, our weighted average debt maturity is 7.9 years. The new loan is at a low loan-to-value ratio and has a one-year term, during which time we expect to extend it or refinance it into a larger, longer-term, fixed rate loan.”

  Citigroup was the sole lender in the new loan transaction.
