MINNEAPOLIS (January 25, 2008) — The Minnesota Association of Cooperatives (MAC) and the Wisconsin Federation of Cooperatives (WFC) have each received a $2,500 check from CoBank on behalf of Douglas W. Triplett, a former director on the cooperative bank’s board. Triplett, who owns and operates a farm in Annandale, Minn., is also a former chairman and board member of MAC and a former board member of WFC. WFC and MAC provide education, technical and other services to more than 800 cooperatives in Wisconsin and Minnesota.
“I strongly support CoBank’s philosophy of giving back to the communities in which we operate,” says Triplett. “I’m particularly proud that the bank is underwriting MAC and WFC and their efforts to educate area students about the importance and scope of cooperatives in the upper Midwest and throughout the U.S.”
MAC and WFC receive the donations as part of CoBank’s corporate giving program, which allows employees and board members to direct bank donations to their choice of non-profit organizations and programs. Through the program, CoBank donated more than $1 million last year to benefit local communities where its employees and directors live and work.
