Project to Create 154 Jobs, Move Manufacturing Operations from Florida to Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE – Governor Jim Doyle today announced that HellermannTyton Corporation in Milwaukee will receive $548,000 in Community Development Zone tax credits for an expansion project that is expected to create 154 jobs in Wisconsin over the next three years. The Governor made the announcement at the company’s Faulkner Road facility on Milwaukee’s northwest side.

“Manufacturing helped define our heritage, and it will determine our future as well. It is a cornerstone of our economy, and we want to invest in projects that will keep our manufacturing base strong and growing,” Governor Doyle said. “I am pleased that we could assist HellermannTyton Corporation with a project that moves manufacturing capacity to Milwaukee.”

With assistance from the state of Wisconsin, we feel confident we will be able to grow our manufacturing base in Milwaukee. This area offers a manufacturing mindset and vehicles to recruit and train employees, and that is critical to our long term, aggressive growth plans.”

HellermannTyton Corporation is moving its manufacturing plant from Naples, Florida to Milwaukee, where its North American headquarters are located. The company, which operates in over 30 countries, manufactures cable ties, cable tie tool systems, specialty fasteners and mounts, network cabling solutions, and identification systems.

The company is acquiring and renovating a facility at 8475 N. 87th St. and expanding an existing facility at 7930 N. Faulkner Rd. Total project cost is $7,800,000.

HellermannTyton’s key markets include the light vehicle, truck manufacturing, OEM, and voice and data markets.
