MADISON – The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSC) today announced that Wisconsin is the first state to join the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in signing a Memorandum of Understanding promoting greater energy efficiency throughout the state’s industrial community. Joining the PSC and DOE in this collaboration are the state’s Focus on Energy program and CleanTech Partners.
The goals of this partnership are to foster increased awareness, deployment and use of energy efficient practices and technologies by industries throughout Wisconsin. The effort builds upon the success of DOE’s Save Energy Now initiative and Focus on Energy’s continued success in working with Wisconsin industry. The partnership will also lead to further adoption of industrial practices and technologies that save substantial amounts of energy in Wisconsin.
“This partnership is yet another example of how Wisconsin continues to lead the nation in adopting energy efficiency best practices,” said PSC Chairperson Dan Ebert. “This collaboration will help businesses around the state reduce their energy bills which will improve their bottom lines. The Memorandum of Understanding will also provide a platform for training so that managers of manufacturing facilities can identify measures that will further reduce their energy use.”
