New North: Six regional business leaders named to board of directors

Bordignon, Creel, Dicus-Johnson, Hess, Lund, Zacharias bring diverse industry backgrounds

NEW NORTH, January 10, 2019 – Regional leaders Fabio Bordignon of Fincantieri Marine Group,
Angela Creel of Thrivent Financial, Coreen Dicus-Johnson of Network Health, Chris Hess of
Goodwill NCW, Maggie Lund of ThedaCare and Ken Zacharias of CliftonLarsonAllen LLP have been
named to the board of directors of New North Inc., Vicki Updike, New North co-chair and chair of the
board development committee, announced.

“We appreciate the opportunity to add a variety of perspectives to the New North board of directors,”
says Updike. “Voices from manufacturing, financial services, healthcare and the non-profit world
bring great diversity to our dialogue around how we can move the region forward working
collaboratively.”

Bordignon is the chief financial officer of Fincantieri Marine Group USA, located throughout the
New North. He joined the company in October 2015 as head of special projects, and was promoted
to his current position in April 2017. Bordignon spent the prior decade working in Italy with
Fincantieri S.p.A. and Deloitte Italia. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Università Ca’
Foscari Venezia in Venice, Italy.

Creel is the V.P. of enterprise human resources at Thrivent Financial in Appleton. She joined the
company in May 2015 as V.P. of talent management, and was promoted to her current position in
May 2017. Creel previously held H.R. roles with Target Corporation (1996-2006), Pepsi Beverages
Company (2006-11) and Bemis Company (2011-15). She received a bachelor’s degree in human
resources from Florida State University.

Dicus-Johnson is president and CEO of Network Health, headquartered in Menasha. Prior to
joining Network Health in October 2016, she served as Central Market president (2014-16) and held
other leadership roles (2005-14) at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare, part of Ascension. She also
was in leadership positions at Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Wisconsin (1996-2004) and Fran Haack
& Associates N.K.A. Willis HRH (2004-05). Dicus-Johnson holds a bachelor’s degree in
communications and public relations from Marquette University, plus a Juris Doctor degree from
DePaul University College of Law.

Hess is president and CEO at Goodwill Industries of North Central Wisconsin, headquartered in
Menasha and located throughout the New North. Before joining Goodwill NCW in March 2018, he
spent five years with ThedaCare, including the final three as vice president of market development
and sales. Hess began his professional career with GENCO (2002-11) and U.S. Venture Inc. (2011-
13). He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from St. Norbert College, along with an
MBA from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.

Lund is chief human resources officer for ThedaCare, headquartered in Appleton. Prior to joining
ThedaCare in March 2018, she worked for more than a decade (2009-18) at Mercy Health in
Cincinnati, first as senior divisional V.P. of human resources, then becoming system V.P. of human
resources in June 2013. Lund previously spent nearly eight years in a human-resources role with
Mercy Health Partners in Scranton, Pa., and also has 10 years of HR experience outside of
healthcare. She holds a bachelor’s degree (in human services) and two master’s degrees from the
University of Scranton (Pa.), along with completing her coursework for a Ph.D. in human resources
and labor relations at Rutgers University.

Zacharias is a partner at CliftonLarsonAllen LLP, formerly Schenck S.C. before its recent merger,
located in Appleton. He began his professional career in 1985 with Shinners, Hucovski & Company,
joining Schenck in 1999 when Shinners merged into it. A CPA, Zacharias today leads the real
estate/construction industry team of the local CLA office. He received a bachelor’s degree in
accounting from St. Norbert College.
