MADISON – The U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee will hold a hearing on Wednesday at 9 a.m. central time on the nomination of Michael Brennan – a Milwaukee attorney, former prosecutor and former judge –by President Donald Trump to fill the vacancy on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.

On Tuesday, Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC) General Counsel Lucas Vebber released the following statement about Brennan’s nomination:

“The vacancy for the Seventh Circuit is the longest current appellate vacancy in the federal courts. For too long, the people and businesses of Wisconsin have been denied a full Court of Appeals to hear claims.

“Michael Brennan is well-known in Wisconsin as a high character individual with exceptional legal skills. His knowledge of the law, his experience as a litigator and his experience as a judge in our state’s largest county, will make certain that he excels at the Seventh Circuit. We support Brennan’s nomination and look forward to the confirmation process beginning in earnest.”
