Planning is under way to improve transportation access for residents of Waukesha County.

ERAs Senior Network is pleased to announce it has received a $100,000 grant from Easterseals Project Action Consulting (ESPAC). These funds will support and further the progression of the Find-a-Ride Network project in Waukesha County. The project has an initial focus on transportation access to health and human services for seniors and adults with disabilities.

ERAs, in partnership with Waukesha County, the Greater Milwaukee Foundation and other key community partners, is working collectively to design a One-Call One Click Center to serve as a single point of contact to connect County residents to transportation options and resources.

“This grant is a major win for Waukesha County residents who need increased access to mobility,” said Waukesha County Executive Paul Farrow. “ERAs is a valuable community partner in the effort to connect seniors and adults with special needs to transportation solutions.”

As part of the grant award, ESPAC will facilitate a two-day summit in October to develop an action plan to increase access to transportation. ESPAC will continue work with ERAs for 12 months after the event to provide technical assistance during the implementation phase. For more information on the summit, contact ERAs Senior Network at 262-549-3348.

“The event is designed to bring our community together to develop a plan to strengthen the availability and accessibility of transportation services locally,” said ERAs Executive Director Kathy Gale. “An important way to do that is through a cross-agency approach and we intend to continue our cooperative efforts after the event.”
