Aurora Health Care: Wisconsin’s leading expert on Medicaid to join Aurora Health Care

Milwaukee – Aurora Health Care, the largest integrated health care system in Wisconsin, today announced the hiring of Medicaid expert Kevin Moore as senior vice president of Medicaid strategy. In this role, Kevin will oversee all aspects of Medicaid care delivery for Aurora.

“Kevin brings an extensive knowledge of Medicaid policy and program operations to this innovative position,” said Rick Klein, chief of business strategy and payor relations for Aurora. “His expertise will be invaluable as our organization looks to further enhance patient access to high-quality, cost-efficient care.”

Prior to joining Aurora, Moore was Medicaid director and administrator of the Division of Health Care Access and Accountability for the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. In that role, he oversaw the state’s Medicaid program, providing services to more than 1.2 million members with a biennial budget exceeding $18.6 billion. He also administered the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP), providing assistance to more than 800,000 Wisconsin residents with an annual budget of $1 billion.

Moore previously served as deputy secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, and has held a number of policy and research roles for state officials.

“I’m excited to join Aurora Health Care to define the strategy of how we can best care for individuals and families who rely on Medicaid,” Moore said. “As we know, the Medicaid program is evolving rapidly, requiring constant calibration to ensure we’re making the most of our resources. I look forward to working with the Aurora team to provide an enhanced system of care aimed at improving the health and well-being of our patients.”

Moore holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Upon completion of post-offer requirements, Moore will begin his new position at Aurora in late October.
