The Showcase honors commercial real estate development and redevelopment projects that exemplify
professional excellence in job creation and economic development, creative use or reuse of space,
notable architecture, positive impact on the community, sustainable development, return on
investment, use of innovative financing, and other notable factors. “WCREW helps women in all
disciplines of the commercial real estate industry achieve success by providing opportunities to
learn, lead, network and do business together,” said Degner. WCREW is the Wisconsin chapter of the
CREW Network, a national organization of commercial real estate professionals from every discipline.

Six projects are selected each year from real estate and development community submissions. Two
distinct categories include Vision and Impact. The Vision Awards recognize projects where project
participants do more with less with a smaller budget or a smaller space and the development’s
success causes it to stand out among the competition. The Impact Awards recognize projects with a
larger presence which has a significant impact on the community. All category awards exemplify
strong commercial real estate activity in the state of Wisconsin.

Winning projects were chosen by a panel of judges made up of experienced and respected local real
estate professionals. The 2014 awards include:

The Impact Ingenuity – ABB at Innovation Campus.
The Vision Ingenuity – 88Nine Radio Milwaukee.
Impact Achievement – Northwestern Mutual Van Buren Office Building.
Vision Achievement – Groth Design Group Office Remodel.
Judges’ Choice Impact – UWM Children’s Learning Center.
Judges’ Choice Vision – Pizza Man.

This year, the Executive Showcase awards category sponsors include Wipfli and Whyte Hirschboeck and
Dudek. Networking sponsors include KEI, Merit Title, and Paul Davis Restoration & Remodeling.
