MILWAUKEE – U.S. Cellular customers in Wisconsin continue to enjoy the highest quality calls on their wireless phones, according to the J.D. Power and Associates 2010 Wireless Call Quality Performance StudySM – Volume 2.
For the 10th reporting period in a row, U.S. Cellular has received the J.D. Power and Associates award for overall call quality in the North Central Region, which includes Wisconsin as well as Illinois, Indiana, , Michigan and Ohio. In addition to experiencing less static and interference, U.S. Cellular customers in the region have fewer problems with initial call connection, echoes, and dropped or disconnected cell phone calls, according to the study.
“Our customers deserve to have their phones work no matter where they are,” said Mike Irizarry, executive vice president and chief technology officer for U.S. Cellular. “We listen to them and monitor our network around the clock to make sure that we are providing the best coverage possible.”
Conducted twice a year, the J.D. Power and Associates Wireless Call Quality Performance Study measures the number of problems experienced with wireless call quality in seven customer-impacting factors: dropped/disconnected calls; static/interference; connection on first try; voice distortion; no echoes; no immediate voice mail notification; and no immediate text message notification.
“Whether a customer is calling in an emergency or catching up with family and friends, our priority is making sure that when our customers pick up their phone, it works for them,” said Irizzary.
