Event offers networking opportunities for researchers, entrepreneurs, investors

The 3rd Annual Wisconsin Science & Technology Symposium will take place July 22 and 23 at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. This event brings together 150 to 200 science and technology researchers, clinicians and representatives from the public sector and industry to share ideas and spark new collaborations.

The symposium will showcase cutting-edge research from the UW System, Marshfield Clinic, BayCare Health Systems and industry in diverse fields including renewable energy, biomedical devices, therapeutics and polymers and composites.

“Research is crucial to the UW System, enabling faculty to update their expertise, advance knowledge and contribute to the growth of the state’s knowledge-based economy,” said UW System Board of Regents President Charles Pruitt, a keynote speaker at the event.

Providing opportunities for networking will be a major focus of the symposium, while additional highlights include an entrepreneurship workshop sponsored by the Kauffman Foundation and UW–Madison’s Office of Corporate Relations. The workshop will address specific challenges facing faculty members who wish to form startup companies based on UW technologies.

The symposium is being organized by WiSys Technology Foundation and UW-Green Bay. Academic and industry researchers, entrepreneurs, business leaders and interested community members are encouraged to participate.
