The Ad Diner: Offers affordable small business advertising with ready-to-use ads

Website delivers “Hot advertising from a menu”

If an advertising campaign worked great for a local business in Peoria, Illinois, why couldn’t it also work for a similar, but non-competing business in Albuquerque, New Mexico? That’s the premise of the Ad Diner (http://www.AdDiner.com), a new web-based company that takes existing ads and customizes them for local businesses anywhere in the country.

The ads include TV, radio, print, billboards, direct mail and more. Since the ads are sold in multiple markets to non-competing businesses, the costs are considerably less than if a single business hired an ad agency to create them from scratch.

The ads come from multiple sources, including award-winning advertising agencies, production companies, and creative freelancers from across the US and Canada. These creative contributors are paid a royalty each time their ads are sold. Some of the ads have already run in individual markets, some are created specifically for the Ad Diner.

The Ad Diner is the idea of long-time ad agency executive and agency owner Randy Gunter. “Over the years I’ve talked to numerous small businesses who would like to hire a top-level agency to do work for them, but they simply didn’t have the budget. The Ad Diner solves this issue by providing creative ads at a fraction of most agencies’ regular prices. You get top-notch creative work but you don’t have to pay the full costs since other businesses outside your market will also be sharing the expense.”

Mr. Gunter continues, “The premise actually has worked for years with franchisee arrangements. If you are a franchisee, you typically get marketing materials from the corporate offices that are customized with your information and you use it in your local market. It’s the same idea, except now any business can get these types of ads and campaigns–but of course with the Ad Diner there is no franchisee obligation, you just pay for the ads that you want.”

It’s simple for the business to use. On the Ad Diner website is a “menu” section (keeping with the diner theme) where a small business can view ads in their industry. Once the business chooses an ad that they like, a simple phone call (or email) allows the Ad Diner to work one-on-one with the client, customizing the ad content to fit their individual needs. This includes dropping in their logo, their information, and making any other changes to make the commercial or ad work for them. The final files are ready for use within 1-2 business days.

The business doesn’t have to worry that a competing business will be running the same ads in their town. When they license the ads from the Ad Diner, they get exclusivity in their market and typically can use the ads for a year, with options for continued use.

There is an extensive FAQ section on the website (http://addiner.com/faq) that answers most questions for both the small business and the creative contributor.

Although the Ad Diner’s primary target market is “small businesses”, there is no size limitation. Some larger entities, such as hospitals, banks, and non-profit and government organizations, are good candidates for the Ad Diner’s products as long as they advertise on a local level (as opposed to national advertising campaigns.)
