TechSquad: Guest House of Milwaukee announced as winner of one-year IT support contest

MILWAUKEE — TechSquad is proud to announce the Guest House of Milwaukee as the winning non-profit organization awarded one year of pro bono IT support.

In a demonstration of TechSquad’s commitment to the community, the IT firm held a contest for one year of free IT support for one Wisconsin charity. Any Wisconsin certified 501(c)3 not for profit organization was eligible to apply. The winner was awarded one year of free Network Assurance Total Care including offsite backups, ongoing maintenance, computer help desk support, antivirus and spyware protection and more.

The Guest House of Milwaukee, this year’s winner, was faced with challenges in regards to their IT support. While they were recently able to upgrade their hardware and software, they have minimal funding for dedicated and ongoing maintenance to keep the systems up to date and operating at maximum efficiency in order to properly support their charitable efforts consistently and effectively. The Guest House Executive Director, Cindy Krahenbuhl stated, “The timing is perfect as we improve our efficiencies that allow us to take our mission to the next level. We are absolutely thrilled to have this opportunity.”

The Guest House has demonstrated a large commitment to the community by not only providing shelter for the homeless, but also housing. In addition, the Guest House provides drug and alcohol treatment, and resources to help homeless individuals find and keep employment. The Guest House strives to see that every homeless person who enters their doors leaves with a permanent place to call home. TechSquad is excited to begin a relationship with The Guest House and sees this as a great way to help give back to the community – particularly when many non-profit organizations are seeing reductions in donations and unemployment and homelessness are on the rise. Network Assurance is valued at a monthly rate of $100 per workstation and $500 per server. TechSquad is confident that Network Assurance will allow The Guest House to continue to grow and maintain a seamless line of communication between facilities and employees, enhancing the services provided to the community by The Guest House.

The Guest House of Milwaukee takes an integrated approach in providing shelter and treatment programs and housing for hundreds of our community’s homeless. The Guest House provides emergency shelter, a traditional housing program, and several permanent housing programs.
