WHITEWATER Economists, historians and political scientists from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater hope to shed some light on the issues facing the global economy during the fall 2009 Fairhaven Lecture Series.
The series titled “It’s the Economy, Stupid” begins Sept. 14 with Richard McGregory, interim director of Academic Support Services. He will speak about economic revitalization in urban and underserved communities.
“These aren’t just your mother’s or father’s economics courses,” said John Stone, dean of the School of Graduate Studies and Continuing Education. “These presenters will unpack and explore essential historical, cultural and political dimensions of the economy.”
Stone said he hopes people leave the lecture series with a broader and deeper understanding of this complex issue.
All lectures are open to the public at no charge and are held on Mondays at 3 p.m. in Fellowship Hall at the Fairhaven Senior Community, 435 W. Starin Road, Whitewater. Guest parking is adjacent to the building.
