MADISON, WISCONSIN – Design Concepts’ staff members, and their families and friends, are joining together and taking to the road to raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. For the second year, the Design Concepts’ team will ride the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Scenic Shore 150 Bike Tour, July 18 and 19, 2009. The 2-day cycling event takes riders along the beautiful Lake Michigan shoreline covering 150 miles from Mequon to Sturgeon Bay, WI.

The Design Concepts’ team includes 10 enthusiastic riders and a multitude of family and friends providing support and encouragement along the way.

Funds raised through the Scenic Shore 150 support blood cancer research, education, patient services and much more. Last year, Design Concepts’ team riders raised $4,377 in support of the agency. This year, Design Concepts’ team coordinator Rainer Schnabel is hopeful for another strong showing.

“We had a wonderful time riding last years’ event, and I am thrilled that our team keeps growing,” declared Rainer Schnabel, Design Concepts’ director of new product development and team organizer. “Anytime you share an experience like the Scenic Shore Bike Tour there’s an element of bonding that is hard to find anywhere else. It’s a healthy way to pull together a group of people to support a great cause, raise some money, and have a great deal of fun.”

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is dedicated to finding a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma and improving the quality of life of patients and their families.
