Dr. Bailet, an otolaryngologist, is a senior vice president at Aurora Health Care and president of Aurora Medical Group, which has more than 670 physicians throughout eastern Wisconsin. In 2006, the Aurora Medical Group received the American Medical Group Association’s Medical Preeminence Award.

“I am looking forward to working together with such a dedicated group of physicians to help shape policy on group and faculty practices. It is an honor to be selected,” Dr. Bailet said.

Dr. Bailet was nominated by the Wisconsin State Medical Society to fill one of two open seats. He will serve a three-year term, and replaces Kathy Leonhardt, M.D., also of Aurora Health Care, who is completing her term. The other seat was filled by a physician from Mayo Clinic.

The AMA advisory committee, which is comprised of representatives from 11 group and faculty practices throughout the country, advises the AMA Board of Trustees on policy matters relating to group and faculty practices. The Committee meets twice a year during the AMA’s Annual and Interim Meetings.

Aurora Health Care is a not-for-profit Wisconsin health care provider and a national leader in efforts to improve the quality of health care. Aurora offers care at sites in more than 90 communities throughout eastern Wisconsin.
