Skyward Adds First Customer in South America

STEVENS POINT, Wis., April 1, 2008 /PRNewswire/ — Skyward, the industry-leading K-12 school administrative software provider, is pleased to announce its latest international customer. Escuela Campo Alegre (ECA) in Caracas, Venezuela, has chosen Skyward’s Student Management System, making them Skyward’s fourth international school.

Escuela Campo Alegre is a private non-profit English language school for children ranging in age from 3-18 in Nursery-12th grade. Kevin McFerrin, Vice President of New Business at Skyward, was contacted by ECA’s software search committee after they spoke to one of Skyward’s international customers in Beirut, Lebanon. ECA created an evaluation committee to review Skyward and two other vendors’ presentations. After reference calls to other international Skyward customers in Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and India, Skyward was the clear choice to provide the school’s Student Information System (SIS).

With an average enrollment between 600-700 students from over 40 nations, ECA provides a blend of unique personalities, truly making them a multinational educational environment.

The school is preparing to implement Skyward immediately, in order to use the system for scheduling for the 2008-2009 school year. Skyward’s Project Management team has been working hard to set up training sessions, reports and timelines to get the software running for the next Escuela Campo Alegre school year. Skyward is thrilled to have another international customer and is eager to add more schools around the world. “We are looking forward to Skyward’s continued growth and the opportunity to bring our industry leading school management systems to other countries,” said McFerrin.

Established in 1937, Escuela Campo Alegre was built to provide a North American education in Venezuela. The ECA professional staff consists of 115 highly qualified and experienced educators from 12 nations. The school strives to provide innovative education focusing on individual student needs as well as intellectual and personal development. The international environment emphasizes multicultural opportunities and unique challenges as a global citizen. The school year runs from mid August through early June.
