Governor Doyle Announces Funding for Great Northern Corporation

Project to create 4 jobs


 


MADISON— Governor Jim Doyle today announced that Great Northern Corporation, Appleton, Winnebago County, will receive $160,000 in Technology Zone tax credits. The project is expected to create four new positions.


 


“In order to compete in the global economy, it’s important we move industries, companies, and communities forward, and create good-paying jobs for our citizens,” said Governor Doyle. “I am pleased that Great Northern Corporation is purchasing the equipment needed to keep up with the maturing technology of the metal industry.”


 


Great Northern Corporation, founded in 1962, provides custom packaging and distribution services. The company designs, manufactures and distributes packaging solutions and point-of-sale display programs for industrial, commercial and retail products. Great Northern Corporation plans to use the funds to purchase unique, custom-designed equipment, which will increase production capabilities. Total cost of the project is $1,365,156.
