The Votes Are in and Five Oscar Mayer Winners Head to Hollywood

America’s Vote Helps Sing the Jingle, Be a Star Contest Winners Land Cameo Appearance at an Oscar Mayer Commercial Taping


MADISON, Wis., March 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Eager songsters put their own spin on three iconic Oscar Mayer jingles in the Sing the Jingle, Be a Star cross country talent search. Now, five “lucky dogs” are tuned-up to participate in the taping of an Oscar Mayer commercial, a trip for two to the commercial taping location and tickets to the “American Idol” Season 7 Finale Performance Show.


America voted to help narrow down a pool of 12 finalist renditions from the following categories: English Jingle Solo; Spanish Jingle Solo, and Group (English or Spanish Jingle). America’s votes, along with a panel of Oscar Mayer-appointed judges, helped select five Grand Prize winners.

The National Sing-Along Search


As part of the brand’s official partnership with FremantleMedia Enterprises, licensor of “American Idol,” the world famous WIENERMOBILE vehicles spent the summer cruising coast-to-coast, giving jingle fans a chance to enter the Oscar Mayer Sing the Jingle, Be a Star contest. Songsters across the country sang their buns off with their own renditions of the Oscar Mayer Wiener Jingle, the Bologna Song or the Oscar Mayer Spanish Jingle to land a spot in the limelight.


Twelve finalists had their jingle renditions posted at http://www.singthejingle.com/ for fans to vote for their favorites online, at WIENERMOBILE events, via mail or via text message with service from AT&T. The famed WIENERMOBILE vehicles also visited the finalists’ hometowns to congratulate them and help spread the word about the vote.
