MADISON – Governor Jim Doyle today announced that Toman Tool Corporation, Viroqua has been awarded $5,000 from the Department of Commerce (Commerce) through the Business Employees’ Skills Training (BEST) program to provide training in Lean Manufacturing and Cellular Flow through the Northwest Wisconsin Manufacturing Outreach Center (NWMOC) housed at UW-Stout.

“Through my Grow Wisconsin plan, we are working to foster entrepreneurial growth – helping to turn great ideas into viable, job-creating businesses,” Governor Doyle said. “These grants will help entrepreneurs and small businesses obtain professional business plans that will help get their ideas to market.”

Anthony Rubasch Sr., owner of Toman Tool, said “We appreciate the support from the Department of Commerce and the assistance from Western Technical College and Vernon Economic Development Association to make this happen. The funding will help move us to a higher skilled workforce that will increase production of our manufactured equipment and goods, and accomplish better output times.”

The company was started by brothers Anthony and Rich Rubasch in the small town of Towerville in 1989. Today, it has grown to a 12,000 square foot building in the Viroqua Industrial Park. Check out their website at www.tomantool.com.
